How to create a Podcast

A podcast is a digital audio file (usually MP3 or AAC) made available for download on the internet through an RSS 2.0 feed. The web address of the media file is contained in the enclosure tag of an item in the XML file. The enclosure tag was added to the RSS 2.0 standard in 2004 making podcasting possible.

What is RSS?

RSS (Rich Site Summary) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it.

You will need to download some  software (Audacity (Audio Editing Software) to create your your podcast. The following links provide additional information to creating your podcast

Becoming an adolescent was bitter sweet
Not because you had big teeth,
But because you felt you were big,
So you started trying on your mother's wigs
The day when you met that lady they called Mary
Ooh, that day was sooo scary!
Then your mother comes to you all weak in the knees
and says she has to explain about the birds and bees,
The mosquito bites on your chest felt sooo tender
couple months after boys started to recognize your gender
What an emotionally and physically confusing time that was sent
The time I became an adolescent.

Learning Styles

We all have a preferred learning style. Do you know yours? As teachers, we often know the theory but we do not apply it to ourselves. Have you considered your own learning style/preference? It is important to know your style because it impacts very much on your teaching. It is useful to take an inventory of yourself and also check that of your students at the beginning of a course/class. If you do not have an instrument, at least you can make some basic observations and ask a few pointed questions to help you determine the best approach.

Welcome to Technology in Education EDET

Welcome to Teacher Education, Seminar Series Technology in Education.  I am Jacqueline Peters-Richardson, Education Officer-Business, in the Ministry of Education your Tutor for this course.  Before taking up this post I worked at the Princess Margaret School for twenty years.
